OCULAR LASER SIMULATION

This new course in ophthalmic laser skills, teaches you the essential skills and knowledge to become a jedi master of the ophthalmic laser!

Designed for ophthalmology registrars early in your training, we teach you the fundamental skills of using the lasers. This practical hands-on course gives you consultant-led training with ample time for practice with high-quality simulation eyes.

No previous experience with using lasers is required – we teach you from the basics upwards.

Apply for the course

The course cost is £ 350 – this includes lunch and refreshments.

We limit the number of participants to 10, to maximise the teaching opportunity, and allow sufficient time for practice with each laser modality.

The course is held on the 4th Floor at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, in Edinburgh.

To apply for the course, please email the following to:
info@scotlasercourse.com

1. Your full name
2. Your ST level and place of work
3. Contact details including phone and email

Once accepted for the course, further details will be sent to you, including the payment process.

Please note, laser safety rules require all laser users to have completed an online Laser Safety ‘Core of Knowledge’ course.

There are two free online courses available:
1. TURAS     https://learn.nes.nhs.scot/59734
2. e-LFH      https://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/laser-safety/

(There are also many companies who offer paid-for courses)

We need a copy of your completion certificate emailed to us, in advance of the day of the course.
[Note: The course certificate remains valid for 5 years, before the course must be retaken]
